6:30 am AMRAP (as many reps as possible)
Well this was a wake up call. There were several stations laid out with multiple quantities at each station so multiple people could do the exercise at the same time. We rotated thru the exercises for as many rounds as we could. I started on my third round by the end of the time allotted.
7:15 am Breakfast / Updates
They left the 1/2 banana in the peel - it was tasty. I'm glad I switched back. I'll have to look into getting the Ezekial bread at home to add to my breakfast.
Today was Country Theme day. Janet and Teel went out last night and got a bunch of bandanas and country hats from the dollar store and passed them out to everyone. we had some fun with it!
8:00 am First Chance Workout
We went to a nearby soccer field. We warmed up by jogging around 2 goal posts. well most people jogged, I power walked with intention! We got split into 2 teams. My team went to the slam balls (large foam balls that are different weights - all heavy!) My team paired up - Teel and I joined together and we volunteered to go first. There were like 6 slam balls that we had to move from one goal post to a second, a third, and back to the "home" goal post. We threw them and chased after them. The green balls were easiest, orange medium and blue heaviest. There was debate over whether the orange was heavier than the blue, but i think the blue won out. There was a series of exercises to do while other pairs went out with the balls. We did 1 min drills when we went to the other area.
We did 25 rounds of "Head Shoulders Knees and Toes (with an optional burpee)" as our last exercise. The last couple pics above are of our stretches. And here's my shadow stretching!
10:45 am Foam Rolling / Stretch
Ow. That's all I have to say Ow. I hate foam rolling. I learned new ways to hurt myself with foam rolling. It is not my favorite. There was no "Stretch" involved.
11:30 am Lunch
Yum. Good soup, and a pizza with steak, cheese and arugula. Art asked to speak to Chef Tim. Those of us that stayed behind had a nice conversation with the chef about the food selections and how recipes were made. I made sure to compliment him on the soups. They were excellent. I haven't had trouble with any of the food but others have.
12:30 pm Label Reading *
It was label reading. I got to read about ice cream drumsticks.
1:45 pm Pyramid
I missed the first part of this exercise. I had to take a little walk to clear my head. When I got back, I jumped on a treadmill and started. It was a mix of kettlebell / weight repetitions and cardio work involving increasing resistance and speed in alternating patterns. I was able to do a jog on the treadmill some. And towards the end of the workout I tried the rower. Their rowers are not as nice/secure as the ones at Lifetime. I'll be glad to get back to those.
here's a stopwatch they use a lot in our workouts
3:15 pm DB Pool
Estella and Jerry from Season 7 led this workout. The weighted workouts were a little light in intensity compared to the other workouts we had in the pool - but then there was another segment we got to do. People who can't or didn't want to swim did punches and walked in a circle around the shallow end. The people who did want to swim did a lap to one end and back (not 25 meters but probably 10 m there and 10 back) with various challenges (with weights, with legs and only one arm, with only legs, with only arms, on your back with only legs, on your back with only arms, and all out sprint)
Then we played Water Polo. or as Brit Patrick called it, Fake Water Polo. We are SO competitive. We had challenges to calls on plays, injuries, and victorious celebrations.
4:45 pm Patterns and Portions *
This was a nutrition class that talked a lot about portion sizes and how to build our meals. very helpful but i should have taken more notes.
6:00 pm Dinner
This was good. It was chicken sausage with veggies and rice. I think the rice was brown rice. I mixed it in with the sauce. The sauce was relatively spicy. The chicken sausage and veggies were great. Good peppers and other veggies.
7:00 pm NBC's The Biggest Loser (group watching experience) - optional
I started off watching by myself. Lisa and Stephanie visited for a few but then they went upstairs to rest. Teel, Kathy and Janet joined me for the second half of the show. It was nice watching with people.
The Day is Not Over. . . I have my nutrition consultation and my wellness coach consultation tonight.
I'll update more info tomorrow about the consultations.
